After a series of meetings since the start of the summer holidays, the association's board warns about the spread of children being incited against their fathers and reaffirms its commitment to its memorandum.
The Moroccan Association for the Defence of the Rights of Fathers and Children has held successive meetings since the beginning of the summer holidays, during which it examined a series of complaints received. They show that many fathers are forcibly deprived of their children during the summer holidays, even though they hold judgments granting them residence of their children for 15 days to a month — not to mention the continuous obstruction throughout the school year.
As part of its monitoring of visiting orders, which are constantly obstructed by involving the child in the family conflict and turning him into an instrument of revenge and of score-settling that is none of his business, the association warns national public opinion against the spread of the phenomenon of inciting children against their fathers. Beyond the deprivation suffered by fathers and children alike, this incitement sows the seeds of an ingratitude liable to cause a serious social fracture, in addition to the psychological disorders that affect the child's schooling and normal development.
In view of the above, the association's executive board, which accompanies many cases of children incited against their fathers and of forced separation, and faithful to the association's principles — preserving fathers' legal gains and raising awareness of the cause of the father deprived of the bond with his children, for the child's psychological stability in particular and family balance in general — states the following:
- Its great satisfaction that His Majesty King Mohammed VI has referred the Family Code to the Higher Council of Ulema, which it regards as an affirmation of the rule of law and of institutions.
- Its deep attachment to all the proposals contained in the memorandum submitted by the association.
- Its call on the various actors of the Moroccan legal field to speed up the adoption of the legal measures needed to protect the child from the claws of incitement and hatred that distort his childhood.
- Its full readiness to work with the various human-rights organisations to advocate for everything that guarantees the stability of the Moroccan family and spares the child anything that could affect his psychological balance.
